ERA was awarded the distinction- Deal of the Year 2018

Efrim, Roșca and Associates has won the 2018 Deal of the Year Award by the prestigious CEE Legal Matters magazine. We are honored to announce that ERA has won the 2018 Deal of the Year in the Republic of Moldova awarded by the prestigious CEE Legal Matters magazine. The prize was awarded for the representation of B.C. Moldova-Agroindbank S.A. and the Moldovan Government in the deal for sale of the majority stake to the International Consortium of Investors – EBRD, Invalda INVL, Horizont Capital. It is for the first time in the history of this competition when the prize was awarded to a Moldovan legal company.

In that transaction, the team of the Efrim, Roșca and Associates Law Firm consisted of Oleg Efrim, Ilona Panurco and Tinca Bodiu. Legal practitioners with vast experience from Central and Eastern Europe gathered in Budapest on 28 March at the CEE Deal of the Year Award ceremony (award for the deal of the year across Central and Eastern Europe). The Efrim, Roșca and Associates Law Firm was represented in Budapest by Ilona Panurco, Senior Consultant, Head of the Consultancy Department. “The importance of the deal was determined not only by the fact that there was sold a significant block of shares in the largest bank in the Republic of Moldova.

It was the first deal of such kind, whose complexity was difficult to imagine. We were honored to represent both B.C. Moldova-Agroindbank S.A. and the Moldovan Government in the capacity of seller. The prestigious award is a recognition of the value of the ERA team that is endowed with the necessary knowledge and training, but also with dedication and devotion sufficient to participate in such transactions. The CEE Deal of the Year Awards are given based on a unique and complex selection process carried out by teams of experts from Central and Eastern Europe. This year, such renowned law firms as Allen & Overy, Baker McKenzie, CMS, Cobalt, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Redcliffe Partners, Sayenko Kharenko, Țuca Zbârcea & Asociatii, White & Case, Wolf Theiss have competed for being awarded the 2019 CEE Deal of the Year Award.
